The digital transformation presents specialists and managers with growing challenges. New technologies and concepts must not only be understood, but also evaluated and placed in their own context - always taking numerous cybersecurity aspects into account. In my presentations at leading trade fairs such as Hannover Messe, ACHEMA or the MEORGA events, it became clear that terms such as FDI, NOA with PA-DIM or Ethernet-APL were only familiar to around 30 % of the audience at most.
